Unable to send/receive email with Avast Antivirus installed
Open up
Avast Antivirus (Orange icon on the taskbar)
Click on
REAL-TIME SHIELDS
then click on
Mail Shield
Click on
Expert Settings
button
Select
SSL Accounts
from the left
Make sure the
Encryption
for SMTP and POP3 are set to
None
Make sure the port for
SMTP
is set to
25
Make sure the port for
POP3
is set to
110
Click
OK
and close out Avast and try checking for email again
Return to the Help Menu
